Teston Medical Center & Walk-In Clinic
At Teston Medical Center & Walk-In Clinic, our goal is to provide every patient with compassionate, respectful, and timely healthcare.
To help us serve you better and ensure smooth clinic operations, please take a few minutes to review our clinic policies below.
Appointments
- Please book an appointment in advance for non-urgent visits.
- When registering as a new patient, your first appointment will be a “meet and greet” visit where we review your health history and discuss your care plan.
- Standard appointments are typically 10–15 minutes. If you need to discuss multiple or complex issues, please let reception know when booking so extra time can be scheduled.
- If you arrive late, your appointment may need to be rescheduled to respect other patients’ time.
Cancellation & No-Show Policy
- If you cannot attend your appointment, please cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours (2 business days) in advance.
- Missed appointments or same-day cancellations may result in a no-show fee.
- Repeated missed appointments may limit your ability to book future visits online.
We understand emergencies happen: please contact the clinic as soon as possible if you need to make a last-minute change.
Walk-In & Same-Day Visits
- Walk-in and same-day visits are available based on daily capacity and clinical urgency.
- Walk-in patients are seen on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Please call ahead if you’re unsure whether walk-in spots are available that day.
For life-threatening emergencies (e.g. chest pain, severe injury, stroke symptoms), call 911 or go directly to your nearest hospital.
Prescription Renewals, Forms & Letters
- Routine prescription renewals should be requested 2–3 weeks before your medication runs out, ideally during your follow-up visit.
- Some medications require in-person review before renewal for safety reasons.
- Requests for medical forms, letters, and certificates (e.g., school/work, insurance, travel, driver’s medicals) may involve a fee as per Ontario Medical Association (OMA) guidelines.
- Please allow 5–10 business days for completion.
Uninsured Services & Fees
Not all services are covered by OHIP. The following may require payment at the time of service:
- Employment and insurance forms
- Travel medicine consultations
- Cosmetic or non-medical procedures
- Driver’s medical exams
- Missed appointment fees
Our reception staff can provide a list of current fees upon request.
Respectful Environment – Safe Space Policy
We are committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all patients, visitors, and staff.
We welcome individuals of all ages, backgrounds, genders, sexual orientations, religions, and abilities.
Harassment, abuse, or disrespectful conduct toward staff or others will not be tolerated and may result in refusal of service.
Privacy & Confidentiality
Your personal health information is protected under Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA).
We collect, store, and share information securely and only as required by law or with your consent.
If you wish to review, transfer, or request a copy of your medical record, please contact the clinic’s privacy officer or front desk for assistance.
Payment & Billing
- OHIP covers most medically necessary services for insured Ontario residents with a valid health card.
- Please ensure your OHIP card is up to date and presented at each visit.
- For uninsured services, payment may be required at the time of your visit.
- We accept cash and e-transfer payments.
If you are uncertain about billing coverage, please ask our reception team prior to your appointment.
Referrals, Tests & Follow-Up
If additional tests, imaging, or specialist referrals are needed:
- Our staff will help coordinate appointments and communicate results.
- You will be contacted for any abnormal results or follow-up instructions.
- Please ensure we have your current contact information on file.
If you have testing done outside our clinic, please inform us so we can update your medical record.
Same-Day Appointment Limitations
While we strive to accommodate same-day appointments, availability depends on physician schedules and clinical urgency.
If a same-day visit isn’t possible, we’ll help arrange the next available appointment or suggest our walk-in clinic for prompt care.
Thank You
Thank you for choosing Teston Medical Center & Walk-In Clinic.
